Singers Earl Wrightson and Lois Hunt join host Robert Sherman to celebrate both WQXR's 50th anniversary on the the air, and Mr. Wrightson's 50th anniversary in show business. The program is an hour of conversation and popular songs. Selections include works by Lerner and Loewe, Kurt Weill, Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Paul McCartney, Noel Coward, Mitch Leigh, Rodgers and Hart, and Cole Porter. The show's intermission feature is an interview with Tom Pendleton of the Dome Project, a youth center in New York.

The program, sponsored by Chemical Bank, was recorded at the New York Times Auditorium before a studio audience.

Recorded live before a studio audience at the New York Times Auditorium, the series featured performances by outstanding musical artists of international acclaim, including The Emerson String Quartet, The King’s Singers, Earl Wrightson, The Western Wind and Hesperus, The Empire Brass, Hexagon, The Shanghai Quartet, The Aeolian Chamber Players, The McDermott Trio, Giora Feidman and many others.

The name of the series changed throughout its run, modified as its sponsors changed: The Dubonnet Chamber Music Festival, the Scientific American Chamber Music Festival, the Marine Midland Chamber Festival, and Musical Chemistry sponsored by Chemical Bank.
