A Fabulous Musical on the Disco Singer and LGBTQ Pioneer Sylvester

The flamboyant disco singer Sylvester turned out a number of huge dance floor hits before his untimely death in 1988. Sylvester was not only famous for being Fabulous, he was also a pioneer in the LGBTQ community. The openly gay star is the subject of the new off-Broadway show “Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical.” Anthony Wayne talks about playing Sylvester and writing the book for the show. He’s joined by co-director and costume designer Kendrell Bowman. “Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical” is playing through October 5 at the Theater at St. Clement’s.
