Five Years After NYPD Officers Ramos and Liu's Killings, Fellow Officers Remember

A memorial inside the 84th police precinct honors Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos who were killed on December 20, 2014.

Five years ago today, NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were shot and killed while sitting in their police car in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The shooting happened while the officers were on a temporary assignment outside of their usual precinct — the 84th in Brooklyn Heights. WNYC’s Yasmeen Khan rode along with two officers currently on patrol there.
