Harry O'Leet (?), chairman of the Flag Day committee, opens the 34th annual celebration of Flag Day sponsored by the Sons of the Revolution in the state of New York. Pledge of Allegiance, Star Spangled Banner (sung by Private Patrick). Speeches focus on patriotism and democracy.
The main speaker is Pelham St. George Bissell, III, later a judge on the New York City Civil Court. He was from a long line of Manhattan blue bloods and among the last of the "Park Avenue Republicans" to be elected to office. He was a judge of the lowest of NYC civil courts, that heard such disputes as landlord-tenant.
