The German pianist known as Hauschka – real name Volker Bertlemann – likes to change the sound of his instrument by placing all kinds of stuff on the strings inside it. Inspired by electronic music but in love with the creation of acoustic sounds, Hauschka has done solo pieces, a kind of oddly colored chamber music, and the film score to the Oscar nominated movie Lion. This piece, a studio creation called "Constant Growth Fails", features several layers of his prepared piano. It's part of this playlist:
