Hubert von Goisern worked in a South African chemistry lab, studied flamenco guitar in Canada, learned tribal Philippine instruments, and all the while listened enthusiastically to Jimi Hendrix, Ravi Shankar, and Miles Davis alike. In short, he’s obsessed with sounds. But none more so than the deep musical traditions of his native Austria, which he stews in Western rock and blues.
