Here's Our Working List of Local Organizations Aiding Furloughed Federal Workers

Jon Bon Jovi's restaurant in Red Bank is one of many Tri-State Area institutions lending a hand to furloughed government workers during the shutdown.

On Wednesday’s All of It, host Alison Stewart asked listeners to call in with examples of how local organizations are helping furloughed federal workers. Below is a list of their suggestions. Know of any others? Add them in the comments section!

  • The Metropolitan Opera is offering free tickets to furloughed workers though the end of the month.
  • JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, New Jersey (that's Bon Jovi’s restaurant) is offering free meals for workers.
  • Umberto’s Pizzeria in Fair Haven, New Jersey, is collecting food for the impacted Coast Guard employees.
  • New York Common Pantry is providing bags of food to federal employees.
  • Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey, is waiving co-pays for Emergency Room visits.
