Heather Long, economics correspondent for The Washington Post, reports on the latest push to pass the tax plan -- including the reservations of Sens. Marco Rubio and Mike Lee. She points out the bill is still "hugely unpopular -- around 70 percent of Americans don't think it's the right move," and says most polled Americans think it favors the wealthy and corporations.
(1/2) Two main takeaways on tax bill, says @byHeatherLong. 1. Vast majority of Americans will see a tax cut next year; most of the rest will pay about the same (only 5-7% will pay more). (Whether they *should* get a tax cut is an open question.)

(2/2) Bigger point is, bc debate on the bill has gone so fast, "there are just so many loopholes." Business lobbyists giddy about opportunity to lower their tax bill way below even that 21% rate, that's already super low. We'll be lucky if they even pay 10%.

"There's no doubt that people who have been taking $20,000 or more in state and local -- they're the ones who are worse off in this bill," says @byHeatherLong.
