Hospitals Forced to Shut Down in Besieged Eastern Aleppo

In Syria, civilian casualties continue to mount as bombing has intensified in the besieged rebel-held district of eastern Aleppo. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says dozens have been killed over the course of a few days with no relief in sight.

The bombing campaign has also seriously damaged hospital facilities; forcing all hospitals in the area to shut down operations and compounding the plight of civilians.  The World Health Organization is estimating that more than a quarter-million people are now without critical hospital care.
