The UK-based duo known as Immersion makes evocative and, yes, immersive electronic music – which is a little surprising since this husband and wife team consists of Colin Newman of the punk band Wire and Malka Spigel of the rock band Minimal Compact. As Immersion, they’ve also brought in a series of collaborators, the most recent of which is the NY-based group called Suss. That trio’s music is an atmospheric blend of expansive slide guitars and electronics that suggests a night under the big sky of the American West. Together, Immersion and Suss have released an album full of sonic landscapes called Nanocluster Vol.3. Immersion and Suss play their collaborative music on April 4 at Joe’s Pub.
