Men Incarcerated At Cuomo’s Prison Nursing Home: 'It’s Like They Sent Us To Just Fade Away And Die'

As part of the state’s plan to curb the spread of COVID-19 in state prisons, where the infection rate inside is double what it is outside them, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Corrections Department quietly transferred nearly 100 men upstate in June to the Adirondack Correctional Facility just south of the Canadian border, taking over a mostly-empty facility that had been used for teenagers. 

But advocates and elderly men with chronic issues who are incarcerated there say their lack of access to regular medical care makes some fear they’ll succumb to routine illnesses on top of concerns about the spread of COVID-19. Read the full story on Gothamist.com
