
The legal proceedings surrounding the police killing of Eric Garner reached what may be its conclusion last week. A dozen police officers testified during a judicial inquiry into Garner's arrest, his killing, and the NYPD's disciplinary process for those who were involved. Garner's mother Gwen Carr had petitioned for the hearings. But she says the process wasn't transparent, and left major questions unanswered.
