Katie Holmes directed and stars in the new film, “All We Had,” which premiered this year at the Tribeca Film Festival. Holmes plays Rita, the young mother of a 15-year-old daughter, Ruthie (Stefania Owen). After running away from Rita’s latest boyfriend, the pair find themselves living out of their car, heading east in search of a better life, and ultimately landing in a small town where Rita gets a job as a waitress.

"All We Had" opens in theaters (In NYC at the AMC Loews at 312 West 34th St.) and On Demand on Friday, December 9.
