Making Juneteenth a Public Holiday in New York

Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman introduced a bill last week to make Juneteenth a state holiday. Then Wednesday, Governor Andrew Cuomo did the same thing. Hyndman spoke with WNYC's Kerry Nolan about the importance of the day, and why she believes it deserves more formal recognition.
