
The New Jersey man accused of the deadly truck attack in Lower Manhattan last month pleaded not guilty in federal court Tuesday.
Sayfullo Saipov walked into the courtroom and remained expressionless throughout the arraignment as he listened to a translation in Uzbek, his native language. The 29-year-old green card holder was shot by a police officer after he plowed a truck down a bike path on Halloween, killing eight people and injuring a dozen others.
He's charged with eight counts of murder in aid of racketeering, 12 counts of attempted murder in aid of racketeering, one count of providing and attempting to provide material support to ISIS and one count of violence and destruction of a motor vehicle
He could face the death penalty.
