The Women Who Lead Black Lives Matter

Oct. 20, 2015: A man stands on the lawn of the Capitol building on Capitol Hill in Washington during a rally to mark the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March

Patrisse Khan-Cullors, artist, organizer and co-founder of Black Lives Matter, talks about her memoir When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir. She writes that although leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement have been called terrorists and a threat to America, they are loving women whose life experiences have led them to seek justice for those victimized by the powerful.

Event: On January 16 at 6:30 PM, Patrisse Khan-Cullors will be at the Schomburg Center in conversation with Akiba Solomon (515 Malcolm X Blvd, between 135th & 136th).
