Stop "Man-Spreading" and Take Off Your Backpack

The MTA announced a new campaign to launch in January aimed at getting people not to take up other people's space on the trains by sitting with splayed legs ("man-spreading") or wearing backpacks. WNYC's Kate Hinds joins to talk about the announcements and to take your calls on the other subway etiquette problems the campaign should include.

Breaking news (to us) from @katehinds: "No new subway cars will have bucket seats." All future cars will have bench seating. #Huh

@BrianLehrer Guys -- you're trying to turn NYC into, like, Lisbon. It's the subway. It's not supposed to be pleasant. Take it easy.
