A New Era of Voting Rights

Are you voting in the upcoming election?

Michael Waldman, president of the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law and the author of The Fight to Vote (Simon & Schuster, 2016), talks about the history of voting rights in the U.S. and the current situation, heading into a presidential election.

Waldman said we may be entering a new era of activism to expand voting rights, and the greatest beacon of hope he holds is that this country will move to an automatic and universal voter registration system. "It would be a paradigm shift," he said.
