A new exhibition in Brooklyn celebrates the lives of individuals killed by police

In the exhibition "1-800 Happy Birthday," phone booths are repurposed to play back messages to individuals killed in police shootings.

"1-800 Happy Birthday," assembled by artist and filmmaker Mohammad Gorjestani at WorthlessStudios in Bushwick, features voicemail messages left by friends and family of people killed by police.
