A New Festival Promotes Independent Theater

"Corkscrew Theater Festival" is a theater festival launching this year that aims to increase production opportunities for early-career artists. We hear from its artistic director Thomas Kapusta and producer Alexander Donnelly about why New York City needs small festivals to support upcoming theater-makers, why not having the Fringe Festival this year is a big loss for the independent theater community and how the the festival is trying to fill that gap.
"Corkscrew Theater Festival" runs from Aug. 7 - Sept. 3 at the Paradise Factory Theater (3 64 E 4th St., between 2nd Ave. and Bowery).
