New Yorkers' Right to Repair

Thanks to a new consumer rights law Governor Kathy Hochul signed last year, New Yorker's now have more choice over where they get some of their electronics repaired. The Right to Repair law requires electronic device manufacturers that do business in the state make parts, tools, and repair manuals available for purchase by mom and pop repair shops and consumers.

Chuck Bell, director of advocacy at the non-profit Consumer Reports, joins WNYC host Michael Hill to talk about what the change means for consumers.
