NJ corrections agency starts issuing non-compliance letters to unvaccinated workers

Two dozen employees at New Jersey's Department of Corrections have been issued non-compliance letters for failing to get an initial jab of the COVID-19 vaccine. Though Governor Phil Murphy gave workers inside high-risk settings an extension until May 11 to get fully vaccinated and boosted, unvaccinated employees still had to meet an initial mid-February deadline for their first dose.

The DOC says 68% of its workforce of about 8,100 employees is either fully or partially vaccinated. An agency spokesman says no disciplinary action has yet been taken as the department continues sorting through medical and religious exemptions.
