NJ Schools Are Trying To Close The Digital Divide, As Many Families Struggle To Stay Online

Throughout the pandemic, Gov. Phil Murphy's administration's approach has been to give individual districts flexibility. But that’s largely left them on their own, figuring out how to reopen and get the technology they need by cobbling together donations, federal dollars and redirected funding from the state budget. 

Districts have run into all kinds of problems like supply shortages, back orders and even an international trade war.
