Madeline Miller discusses her novel Circe. It tells the story of Circe, daughter of the Greek sun god, Helios. She struggles to find her place among the gods and ultimately turns her attention towards the mortal world, where she discovers she has the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters. The novel is an epic of the original variety and skillfully weaves the narratives of family rivalry and palace intrigue with a celebration of indomitable female strength.

Miller will be in conversation with classicist and Odyssey translator Emily Wilson on April 17 at 6:30 pm at the NYPL Stephen A. Schwarzman Building (42nd Street and Fifth Avenue)

This segment is guest hosted by Alison Stewart.
