
More than a million New York City Public School students are not in school today. After days of mounting pressure from parents and teachers, Mayor de Blasio announced last night the nation's largest system will shut down for at least a month. In doing so, New York City joins cities and states around the country. But shuttering the system is a monumental move. WNYC's Jessica Gould explains.
