NYC Will Make Police Disciplinary Records Available Through a Database

Mayor Bill de Blasio says the city will soon make police disciplinary records available to the public through an online database.

Next month, the NYPD will begin posting records for officers currently facing misconduct charges from the NYPD. People will be able to see what the charges are, when the administrative trial for that officer will be, and eventually the trial's outcome.

The database will expand to include any disciplinary records for all uniformed members of the department. WNYC's Yasmeen Khan reports.
