Love, loss, milestone moments in people’s lives: they’re still happening despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Ashaa Khan is a New York City high school senior who’s been thinking about big moments playing out in small, quarantined spaces.
As she says, "ever since schools closed, my life has been confined to my bedroom, a laptop screen, and a never-ending loop of anxious thoughts."
And then Khan gets an email from her dream college, announcing that a decision on her application is a click away.
"I’m one of thousands of seniors across the country awaiting these big results under self-isolation. But it’s not just college. This pandemic hasn’t stopped big moments from occurring. A classmate recently posted a video on Instagram of a couple that got married on her street, and everyone was cheering from their apartment windows."
