Outside Groups Pour Millions Into Rose-Malliotakis Race

The race for the 11th Congressional District in New York (Staten Island and part of Brooklyn) between Democratic incumbent Max Rose and Republican State Senator Nicole Malliotakis is the most competitive one in the city, and that uncertainty has prompted both conservative and liberal PACs from around the country to spend millions trying to influence the outcome.

Among the outside groups trying to influence race, the biggest spender is House Majority PAC, a liberal group that has spent more than $6 million against Malliotakis, according to data from OpenSecrets.com. The biggest contributor to House Majority PAC, by far, is former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has given it $11.4 million.
Meanwhile, Max Rose has been hit with nearly $4 million in spending by a conservative Super-PAC, the Congressional Leadership Fund. Its biggest contributors are the family of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson.
