The Al Quds hospital in the Syrian city of Aleppo was attacked on Thursday despite a "cessation of hostilities" agreement that is supposed to be in place between the government and opposition forces.

It may be the single worst attack on a medical facility in Syria so far this year. Dozens of people were killed including at least two doctors. The hospital was the main health care facility for children in the area.

In the past week, Syrian government and Russian forces have increased the intensity of their attacks in Aleppo, which is held by rebel forces.

Elise Baker, coordinator of the Syria Mapping project at Physicians for Human Rights, says this is at least the 360th attack on a medical facility they have documented since the beginning of hostilities in 2011.
