A Portrait of a Family, a Father's Lingering Pain

Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award finalist Adam Haslett talks about his latest novel Imagine Me Gone, set in London during the 1960s. When Margaret’s fiance, John, is hospitalized for depression, she must decide whether to move forward with their marriage plans, or leave him. She chooses to stay with John, and they have three children together. The novel tells the story of their children’s lives over the course of several decades, seen from changing perspectives.
