A Protest Leader Reëvaluates Her Strategy
Many Democrats and progressives—having lost control of the White House, Congress, the majority of state governments, and a shot at a Supreme Court seat—feel lost in the wilderness. Anna Galland is the executive director of Moveon.org and is helping to organize the resistance to Trump’s Administration. Even if Trump might garner Democratic support for something like an infrastructure bill, Galland’s opposition is absolute: she refuses to “play footsie with a white supremacist.” The New Yorker’s Evan Osnos asks her how she intends to put liberals back into power.
