Mayor William O'Dwyer welcomes British Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein.
WNYC Chief Announcer Tommy Cowan describes the scene.
Montgomery discusses America's help to Western Europe in aiding both economic and military strength. The western nations don't realize the impact the US had on the war effort. Military aid program is absolutely vital. Montgomery believes that this will lead to peace.
