Wall Street Journal reporter Ryan Dezember bought his first house in Alabama in 2005. Then came the housing crisis, and a decade of chaos followed for him and millions of Americans. The fallout if far from resolved; today, 2.5 million homes in the U.S. are still worth less than their mortgages. Dezember details this in his recent essay, “My 10-Year Odyssey Through America’s Housing Crisis.”
