Reputed Boss of Gambino Crime Family Killed

The reputed head of the Gambino crime family has been shot and killed outside his home on Staten Island.

Police say 53 year-old Francesco Cali, also known as "Franky Boy", was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the Todt Hill section just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn had referred to Cali in court filings in recent years as the underboss of the Gambino crime family.

Cali was taken to Staten Island University North Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say there have been no arrests in the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
