Filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker discusses Janus Films’ re-release of his concert film "Monterey Pop." He’s joined by Jim Desmond, one of the cameramen who worked on the original film. Restored to commemorate the festival’s 50th anniversary, the film documents the three-day 1967 festival, and captures performances by artists like Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Otis Redding.

"Monterey Pop" runs for a week starting June 14 at the IFC Center (323 6th Ave.). D.A. Pennebaker and Jim Desmond will host a Q&A following the 7:45 p.m. show on June 14.
