TRussia Daily: What's Going On 'Behind the Scenes' Between Trump and Sessions

Here on the Brian Lehrer Show, we'll follow the fast-developing Russia investigation news on every week day in June.
Sari Horowitz, four-time Pulitzer Prize winner and Justice reporter for the Washington Post, details what we can expect from former FBI director James Comey's long-awaited testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is scheduled for Thursday. We shouldn't expect to hear about any classified material during the hearing, but we may hear about Comey's private conversations with the president. She says, "Comey has a reputation of integrity" and his testimony will reinforce that. Plus, she explains that there's been growing tension behind the scenes between the president and Attorney General Jeff Sessions ever since Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation. And we now know that he recently tried to resign as Attorney General, but the president refused to accept it.
Jennifer Rubin, opinion writer for the Washington Post, explains that a widely reported story about Trump asking for Comey's loyalty is particularly troubling. "No president, politics aside, at least in modern history, would ask the head of the FBI to do something like this." She also discusses why the president is now blaming Sessions for troubles plaguing the White House.
