With election season behind us, Mayor Bill de Blasio is back for the weekly "Ask the Mayor" segment, where he takes calls and questions from listeners around the city.
It seems "consistency" is the big word for de Blasio's second term. He says, about policy and personnel changes, "Assume continuity from me unless I make an announcement otherwise." When asked what issues he would focus in the next four years de Blasio recommitted to issues from his previous term: 3K for all, affordable housing, and police-community relations.
Brian asks listeners: "Ahead of the Mayor's second term, Do you have a “moonshot” idea for NYC…something just crazy enough to work?"

Pedestrianize local streets in lower Manhattan. Wouldn't be a "moonshot" for other world cities, but it would be in this town. #askthemayor

@BrianLehrer Please #askthemayor to fix the transit system! A world class city like New York should be leading the way in transit! Let's look to Japanese transit systems for inspiration.

@BrianLehrer #askthemayor what would it take to build developments with 💯% affordable units as the default in his housing plan instead of the current policy of supporting developments with some percentage of affordable units.

I want him to make decisions on congestion pricing and ebikes based on data and not the car-culture mindset that's tragically embedded in his brain.
