The Nigerian singer and bandleader Seun Kuti is a son of the fiery, groundbreaking Fela Kuti, the man who founded the Afrobeat style and inspired the Broadway musical Fela. Fela had a band called Afrika 70; Seun has a band called Egypt 80. Like his late father, Seun Kuti takes on topics like government corruption and corporate greed in his songs, setting his lyrics and his blazing sax solos to an insistent dance beat.
