The stars aligned for Malawi's Esau Mwamwaya and producer Johan Hugo when they met in an East London junk shop in 2008. Since then, the musical duo has been making radiant afro-pop. They describe their sonic expression as: "Shouting from the mountain tops while the singing dunes rumble in the background."

Their newest music video for single "Hear Me Now" begins with the face of a man. His glistening eyes and faint horizon of a sunrise are all that is visible while pensive piano accompanies lilting and delicate croons from Mwamwaya.

The video jumps from timelapses of various locations in Malawi; Circling star-filled skies beyond dangling trees to billowing clouds over a serene beach. The song slowly builds up to the emotional chorus, but never loses it's cool. It maintains a serene, methodical air about it. 

In 2010 their debut album Warm Heart Africa and music video for the title song featured Ezra Koenig. For their most recent album that features "Hear Me Now," the two took refuge in a bar bones studio in Mwamwaya's hometown, Lilongwe, Malawi and recorded nine songs in five weeks. By the end of this music video, you'll be wanting to make a trip to Lilongwe to watch the moon rise from ten different angles too.
