Simchat Torah Begins In Borough Park With Large Crowds and Few Masks, Despite State Orders

Governor Andrew Cuomo's new zone system placing greater restrictions in COVID-19 hot spots met its first big test last night as the Jewish holiday Simchat Torah got underway. WNYC's Gwynne Hogan reports that there was little social distancing, and hardly any enforcement in the ultra-Orthodox Borough Park section of Brooklyn, one of the "red zones."
