Six Months After Subway Shutdown, Hundreds Of Homeless New Yorkers Have Moved To Shelters

Outreach workers transported a lot more people, around 4,000, to shelters, but most didn't stay. City officials say making a transition off the streets is a "courageous and life-changing choice" for New Yorkers who've been living unsheltered for a long time, and that it often takes many attempts.
