Statement on Newspaper Strike

New York Mayor Robert F. Wagner at the dedication of the new home of the Fashion Institute of Technology on May 4, 1959.

Reports made from city hall on the eve of an avoided 1965 Newspaper strike.

Short interviews with Union representative Bertram Powers of the First International Typographical Union (ITU), John Gaherin of New York Newspaper Publishers Association, and mayor Wagner. Elmer Brown, also of the ITU, makes a report on the bargaining progress. Mayor Wagner issues a statement. And finally both unions agree to continue negotiations.
