Those Broken Elevators in Grand Central? We Looked Into It.

These two escalators leading from the 7 platform to the street level are slated to be replaced in the next capital plan. When the escalators are down, it's 80 steps to the bottom.

As of September 2019, two elevators have been taken out of service at Grand Central. One is the elevator connecting the 7 platform to the mezzanine; the other connects the mezzanine to the street.
