South Jersey Democratic power broker George Norcross is often described as one of the most powerful, UN-elected figures in the Garden State. But for the most part, he has operated behind the scenes and out of the public view.
That changes Monday.
Norcross is set to testify before a New Jersey Senate committee on a controversial tax incentive program centered around the city of Camden. But as WNYC's Nancy Solomon told host David Furst, critics say the program was chiefly designed to benefit Norcross and his family.
"What you see is more than a billion dollars in tax breaks that go to companies to move largely from the suburbs of Camden into the city of Camden, and all of those turn out to be, in some way or another, connected to George Norcross," said Solomon.
