
This week, the MTA Board approved its operating budget for 2020 – which included formally signing off on Governor Cuomo's controversial plan to hire 500 new MTA police officers.
WNYC's transportation reporter, Stephen Nessen joins us for a roundup of a tumultuous year at the MTA.
Speaking with David Furst, Stephen says things have improved since the transportation authority's "summer of hell." He says, "On average, most of the trains are doing much, much better than they were two years ago. However, if you drill down a little bit, some lines are just atrocious."
