Where Women Go from Here

Nearly one in four American women take less than two weeks off work after giving birth.

Anne-Marie Slaughter, president and CEO of New America, was the first female director of policy planning at the U.S. State Department in 2009 and wrote the Atlantic article "Why Women Still Can’t Have It All," after leaving the State Department over work/life balance issues.

Slaughter follows up on those ideas and what can be done to even the playing field for working mothers in her new book, Unfinished Business: Women Men Work Family (Random House, 2015).
