
Dr. Regina Alvarez is an assistant professor at Dominican College, and a contributor to the Twitter event #WildflowerHourNYC, where people post photos of local wildflowers they've spotted.
The wildflower she's liking this week? Ozark witch hazel, a late-winter blooming shrub that sometimes gets mistaken for forsythia.
"It has these long, ribbon-shaped petals, and they're kind of crinkly." she said. "Enjoy it! It's fabulous!"
