Preparations are underway for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, including at a practice space at the National Dance Institute in Harlem. There, dozens of kids spent Tuesday evening getting ready for one of the biggest stages in the world: performing alongside Sesame Street Muppets in front of Macy's on 34th Street in Manhattan.
12-year-old Brooklynite Aubrey Mills is one of the dancers. They say it's exciting, but a bit overwhelming.
"I'm practicing all the time at home, and with my friends at school who are doing the Macy's parade as well," Mills told WNYC. "I'm just making sure I have the moves right cause I don't want to mess up on, like, live TV in front of a bunch of people."
Including their mom, who is planning to tape the show from home.
