I was on a Circle Line cruise with friends...one of those booze cruises where you bake in the sun and drink too fast. We thought we should be able to see the Statue of Liberty, but we couldn't see her. Then, we saw her slowly emerge, larger than we could have imagined, from above the ship's bar. We had been too close to see her. This photo was taken as we moved away. I edited the photo on my daily commute.

well I think I took this picture few days after that Eric garner grand jury non indictment and I had gotten involved with some friends who were doing some kind of black and white photo thing on facebook and I was walking down Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint in the middle of the night and saw this Christmas display. When I shot it in black and white it just ended up being grey which somehow seemed appropriate and melancholy.

Driving past a donation box I was disappointed to see this mess.

Night through the Oculus. The brand-new Fulton Center Station is a site to behold. Sometimes, modern architecture can be inspiring, stir emotions and invoke wonder, as much as (or even more so) than any other work of fine art.

This picture was taken on a morning commute on the MTA in NYC. It's part of a series I'm working on call "Subway Series."

I was taking a ride out to nowhere special in May and as I was passing Jamaica Bay I noticed that the sun was setting and the light was perfect. Fortunately for me there were a bunch of people fishing and crabbing so I was able to get quite a few decent shots.

Kara Walker's "A Subtlety " was one of the hig lights of my year. I waited on line for an hour. Not a minute wasted. History and struggle of black women washed over and through me. I also remember the disrepectful photos that were taken. Indeed, Black Lives Matter!
