This was taken at Alstead Farms in NJ on a very hot day in June 2014. I ventured off into their small greenhouse they have while my family was exploring the rest of the farm. I had found a gem. The cat was so peaceful, it never noticed he had an onlooker in its presence.

I became a bit obsessive about photographing clouds this summer - I think I have over 150 of them now! And then there wa this crazy sky one day in Pennsylvania. I'm now pretty sure this was a supercell. I have more photos and even a video, though I still wasn't able to capture the epic view when I stepped out of a store...

I work for DOHMH for Public Health Engineering and part of my job is to test the water in NYC beaches. This photo was taken at sunrise 1/1/2014. Always wanted to welcome the new year and when My friend Sakura said it was a japanese tradition I knew the perfect spot! Where Hurricane Sandy had destroyed so much, the hope of the new year was for a brief moment, Beautiful.

Red Hook is still a tad under the radar; at least with tourists. I love to come to the pier behind the Fairway in the summer, enjoy the spectacular view, and eat a delicious perfectly cooked lobster from the Fairway Grill.

I took this photo during trip to Spain this past spring. We were in Madrid and I was looking at this sign in a window of a woman crying. As I was looking a young boy walked by, oblivious of this woman- but I wasn't oblivious of his going his own way with his own life, unaware of this sign, or of me noticing the juxtaposition of these two figures.

I took this picture this past summer while sitting on a beach at low tide in Wellfleet Cape Cod. I liked the alone tranquil feeling, the ability to see beneath the surface, and especially the vastness of space around me.

I took this shot of my sweet Maverick during some of the crazy snowstorms in early 2014. Mav was with me from my junior year of college, rode on my lap in my rental truck on my move from Pittsburgh to NYC - on my lap as I drove lost through Chinatown. He was sick for a few months at this point and we ended up losing him about 2-3 months after this was taken - he was nearly 17.

I saw this as I glanced out of my car at a traffic light and was struck by how special the positioning was. It almost looked like she was sketching. I honestly can't recall whether this was in Brooklyn or Jersey though.

A puffball, just a little under the size of a soccer ball. I was on my bike with only my phone. I saw this large mushroom by the side of the road out of the corner of my eye, and not having a proper camera with me, I shot this with my Samsung Galaxy SIII phone, testimony to the maxim that the best camera is the one you have with you.
